Following the success of the Issues and Options Site Allocations consultation Mid Beds District Council have once again commissioned Vision Twentyone to take forward another important consultation project in the preparation of their emerging Local Development Framework.

The allocation of sites for gypsy and traveller accommodation and for Travelling Show people in the district has previously received a high level of media publicity and public response.  Gypsy and traveller issues are high on the agenda for Mid Beds District Council and the appointment of Vision Twentyone to lead this programme of consultation re-affirms the importance the council places on the production of this document.

There will be a number of approaches which will be used during the consultation to engage with both the settled community and the Gypsy & Traveller and Travelling Showpeople community in Mid Beds including the Talk to Mid Beds website (www.talktomidbeds.co.uk), face-to-face interviews, exhibitions and postal packs.

Managing Director of Vision Twentyone Nick Carley said: “We are very pleased to once again have the opportunity to support Mid Beds District Council in the preparation of their Local Development Framework and build on the success of Talk to Mid Beds.  At Vision Twentyone we have a proven track record of delivering successful large scale consultation strategies on sensitive subjects. ”

The consultation goes live on 17th November 2008.
